If something is broken
Put the domain on the first line. Then what you expected, what you saw instead, and when it started. A screenshot of the exact error is worth more than a description, because the wording usually identifies the cause on its own.
If you are asking about hosting
The useful things to tell us:
- What the site is built on, if you know. WordPress, a static site, something custom
- Roughly how busy it is, even as an order of magnitude
- Whether email is on the same domain, and who currently handles it
- Whether anything has to stay where it is for a contractual or legal reason
We will tell you whether this is the right place for the site, including when it is not.
If you are asking about moving a site
Send the address of the existing site. Most of what we need we can see from the outside, and the first reply will usually tell you what the move involves and anything likely to be awkward about it.
Nothing changes while we look. A migration starts with a copy and an agreed redirect map, not with switching anything over.
What will not happen
There is no automated sequence behind this. Nobody is added to a mailing list, there is no drip of follow-up emails, and if you decide against it you will not hear from us again unless you get in touch.
